Gorilla Forest Lodge

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda

Located within Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the redesigned Gorilla Forest Lodge, an A&K Sanctuary, is the only luxury option inside the park gates. With that, the lodge provides “unparalleled” gorilla trekking access. Completely renovated in 2024 and designed with respect for the environment, the revitalized lodge now offers an intimate and luxurious experience. Its ten suites, renovated with attention to detail, blend harmoniously with the surrounding mountain landscape. The lodge's amenities include a cosy bar, a lounge perfect for relaxation and a refined dining area with panoramic views of the rainforest, where guests can rejuvenate after a day's trekking.

The Safari Experience

The gorillas are completely wild but have become used to seeing a few humans after years of habituation. Many of the expert guides have been involved in this process since the beginning and are able to explain the complicated etiquette involved in meeting a giant silverback. This is an opportunity afforded only to a select few, as just eight visitors are allowed to view each group every day. In addition to the gorillas, Bwindi is also home to rare forest elephants, giant forest hogs and eleven kinds of primates, such as red tailed and blue monkeys, black and white colobus, baboons and chimpanzees. You can also find forest duiker antelopes, bush buck antelopes and over 200 species of butterflies.

Why Stay Here?

The lodge’s strategic location, a stone’s throw from the starting point of gorilla-watching treks, makes it a unique place. Not infrequently, gorilla families come to the lodge, offering guests the chance to experience unforgettable moments in close proximity with one of human’s closest  cousins, in their natural habitat. Aside from gorilla trekking, guests can also interact with the local Batwa Tribe, the oldest inhabitants of the Great Lakes region of Central Africa.

andBeyond Suyian Lodge

Suyian Conservancy, Laikipia, Kenya

Located Long-time andBeyond fans are in for a treat. Opened in July 2025, the andBeyond Suyian Lodge is set in a less-trodden corner of Kenya with the encouragement for a new “safari triangle”, as well as one of the best places to witness the black panthers. Exclusively located in the 44,000 acre Suyian Conservancy, the beautifully-designed 13 suites and 1 Family Suite are conceptualized with a true reflection of the Laikipia region’s remarkable biodiversity, naturally blending into its surrounds.

The Safari Experience

The surrounding area is home to 260-plus bird varieties and 55 mammals, including endangered species like the reticulated giraffe, the black rhinoceros, and the Grévy’s zebra, plus lesser-known species like the aardwolf (an insect-eating hyena) and the gerenuk. Guests can join members of local cultural groups, such as the Samburu and Pokot, for activities that include guided bush walks, community visits, and storytelling around the fire. There is also the opportunity to scale the skies on an early morning scenic flight over Mount Kenya or plan a full-day trip to the spectacular Matthews Range or Lake Turkana.

Why Stay Here?

The conservancy’s only lodge rests lightly along the escarpment. Fourteen open-fronted Suites blend into the landscape, with raw textures and floor-to-ceiling glass that invites the outside in. Because the lodge is within a private conservancy rather than a national park or reserve, guests can also expect off roading, night drives, as well as horseback safaris, hiking with camels and taking part in tours of Stone Age-era cave paintings and artifacts. Finally, the chance to combine the Maasai Mara with the captivating Suyian Conservancy in Laikipia, in our opinion, fabulously mesmerizing to miss. This is Kenya at its purest. Seldom seen. Always Remembered.
